Meet the TeacherChajuana Marita Hale is a native of Indianapolis,
Indiana. She
graduated from Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI)
in 2001 with a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry and a minor in Spanish.
Hale was an academic mentor while in undergrad as well as a Spanish
tutor. She has taught several
basic conversational Spanish classes for IUPUI Continuing Studies.
Currently, Hale is employed as a scientist at a local diagnostic
corporation in the Fishers, Indiana area.
As early as age 10, Hale has always had a passion for learning Spanish. (A
friend joked that it is perhaps due to the spelling of her name: "Chajuana"
not "Shawanna" as it is more typically spelled in the African
American community!) Along with self-motivation and the desire to be bilingual,
Hale continued to study Spanish throughout her academic career.
In 2003, Hale decided to start her own business as an independent Spanish
instructor, when she realized the demand for learning Spanish has
tremendously increased. Say it ‘N’ Spanish is a great learning tool for anyone who has had
little or no Spanish background, and wants to learn how to converse
effectively in Spanish, in a short period of time.
Hale has prepared class workbooks and assignments that are designed
to challenge her students mentally while enhancing their communication
skills in Spanish. The
classes are focused on basic everyday vocabulary and grammar,
pronunciation, verb usage, career and travel experiences.
